Sin embargo, a pesar de los esfuerzos para garantizar su seguridad, siguen ocurriendo incidentes que comprometen tanto la seguridad del paciente como la eficiencia del servicio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Objetivo:<\/em><\/strong> Identificar puntos cr\u00edticos en el proceso transfusional analizando los modos de fallo, causas y efectos mediante el An\u00e1lisis Modal de Fallas y Efectos (AMFE), con el fin de priorizar riesgos y proponer medidas de mejora.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Material y m\u00e9todos:<\/em><\/strong> Este estudio, de enfoque cuantitativo, observacional, descriptivo y retrospectivo, se llev\u00f3 a cabo en un hospital de segundo nivel en Llallagua, Potos\u00ed, Bolivia. Se analizaron 294 registros de transfusi\u00f3n correspondientes a la gesti\u00f3n 2022, y el an\u00e1lisis fue realizado en el primer trimestre de 2023 por especialistas en transfusi\u00f3n sangu\u00ednea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Resultados:<\/em><\/strong> Se identificaron cinco puntos cr\u00edticos en el proceso transfusional: indicaci\u00f3n, almacenamiento, administraci\u00f3n, hemovigilancia y evaluaci\u00f3n de la terapia transfusional. Los fallos fueron clasificados por el N\u00famero de Prioridad de Riesgo (NPR), detectando 19 causas principales. Los fallos de alto riesgo incluyen: temperatura inadecuada en la refrigeraci\u00f3n de hemocomponentes, errores en la identificaci\u00f3n del paciente, falta de capacitaci\u00f3n en criterios de transfusi\u00f3n y errores en la interpretaci\u00f3n de ex\u00e1menes de laboratorio.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Conclusiones:<\/em><\/strong> El AMFE permiti\u00f3 identificar fallos cr\u00edticos del proceso transfusional, subrayando la necesidad de mejorar la capacitaci\u00f3n del personal, actualizar protocolos y optimizar tanto el almacenamiento como la administraci\u00f3n de hemocomponentes. However, despite efforts to ensure its safety, incidents continue to occur that compromise both patient safety and service efficiency.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Objective:<\/em><\/strong> To identify critical points in the transfusion process by analyzing failure modes, causes, and effects using the Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to prioritize risks and propose improvement measures.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Material and methods: <\/em><\/strong> This quantitative, observational, descriptive, and retrospective study was conducted at a second-level hospital in Llallagua, Potos\u00ed, Bolivia. A total of 294 transfusion records from 2022 were analyzed, and the analysis was carried out in the first quarter of 2023 by blood transfusion specialists.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Results:<\/em><\/strong> Five critical points in the transfusion process were identified: indication, storage, administration, hemovigilance, and evaluation of transfusion therapy. Failures were classified by the Risk Priority Number (RPN), identifying 19 main causes. High-risk failures included inadequate temperature in the refrigeration of blood components, errors in patient identification, lack of training in transfusion criteria, and errors in laboratory result interpretation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Conclusions:<\/em><\/strong> The FMEA allowed the identification of critical failures in the transfusion process, highlighting the need to improve staff training, update protocols, and optimize both the storage and administration of blood components.
