As\u00ed, su evaluaci\u00f3n permite lograr la optimizaci\u00f3n de recursos y detectar posibles mejoras. De tal forma que, la mortalidad se ve reflejada en la calidad del cuidado del paciente, y el \u00e9xito de esta \u00faltima est\u00e1 relacionada a la disponibilidad de infraestructura, insumos espec\u00edficos y los equipos como ventiladores e incubadoras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Objetivo: <\/em><\/strong>Determinar la situaci\u00f3n de equipamiento y recursos humanos de las unidades de terapias intensivas y\/o intermedios neonatales p\u00fablicos de las poblaciones de La Paz y El Alto, en el a\u00f1o 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Material y m\u00e9todos: <\/em><\/strong>Se realiz\u00f3 un estudio observacional, descriptivo, de corte transversal, registro de caracter\u00edsticas de las UCIN de los hospitales p\u00fablicos de segundo y tercer nivel de las ciudades de La Paz y El Alto. Se estimaron la proporci\u00f3n de equipamiento de atenci\u00f3n ventilatoria y la relaci\u00f3n existente entre personal de enfermer\u00eda de los distintos turnos, con el n\u00famero de camas y neonatos.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Resultados: <\/em><\/strong>Identificamos estrat\u00e9gicamente 7 hospitales del sistema p\u00fablico, 2 son dependientes de gobernaci\u00f3n y 5 dependientes del municipio. Se evidenci\u00f3 que los recursos humanos son insuficientes en todos los turnos. El equipamiento, con la medici\u00f3n de gases en sangre, los ox\u00edmetros de pulso son suficientes, e insuficiente los puntos aire comprimido \u2013 mezcladores, y servicio de radiograf\u00eda. La proporci\u00f3n de ventiladores por 1000 nacidos vivos, no es suficiente. El porcentaje de sobrevida de El Alto del 73% al 67% en las gestiones 2018 y 2019 respectivamente en menores de 1500g, con perfiles aceptables y constantes en mayores de 1500g. Los servicios de Presi\u00f3n Positiva Continua en V\u00eda A\u00e9rea (CPAP) disponible en todas las unidades y cirug\u00eda neonatal solo en dos unidades de tercer nivel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Conclusiones: <\/em><\/strong>El perfil de alerta de los recursos humanos, y alarma del equipamiento, se debe tomar en cuenta para el fortalecimiento de las distintas unidades, en busca de mejorar la calidad de atenci\u00f3n y que sean acorde al crecimiento poblacional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Palabras Clave: <\/em><\/strong>Recursos humanos, Cuidados intensivos neonatales, Equipamiento hospitalario, Ventilaci\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left; margin-bottom: 22px;\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; padding-bottom: 8px; border-bottom: 2px solid #00663a; color: #333; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;\"> ABSTRACT<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Introduction: <\/em><\/strong>Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs) are fundamental pillars, as they offer continuous, specialized technological and medical support to stabilize and treat critically ill patients. Therefore, evaluating these units allows for the optimization of resources and the identification of potential improvements. Mortality is thus reflected in the quality of patient care, and the success of this care is related to the availability of infrastructure, specific supplies, and equipment such as ventilators and incubators.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Objective: <\/em><\/strong>To determine the situation of equipment and human resources of the public neonatal intensive care units and\/or intermediate units of the populations of La Paz and El Alto, in 2020.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Material and methods: <\/em><\/strong>An observational, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, recording the characteristics of NICU of second and third level public hospitals in the cities of La Paz and El Alto. The proportion of ventilatory care equipment and the relationship between nursing staff in the different shifts with the number of cots and neonates were estimated.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Results: <\/em><\/strong>We strategically identified 7 hospitals in the public system, 2 are dependent on the government and 5 are dependent on the municipality. It was evident that human resources are insufficient in all shifts. The equipment, with the measurement of blood gases, pulse oximeters are sufficient, and the compressed air points \u2013 mixers, and X-ray service are insufficient. The ratio of ventilators to 1000 live births is not enough. The survival rate of El Alto from 73% to 67% in the 2018 and 2019 administrations respectively in children under 1500g, with acceptable and constant profiles in those over 1500g.
