En este marco, el Hospital Regional La Paz impuls\u00f3 la implementaci\u00f3n de la Iniciativa Hospital Amigo de la Madre y la Ni\u00f1ez (IHAMN), orientada a proteger, promover y apoyar la lactancia materna. El proceso comenz\u00f3 con la conformaci\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 de Lactancia Materna, integrado por un equipo multidisciplinario encargado de capacitar al personal y adecuar los procesos de atenci\u00f3n conforme a la normativa nacional. Gracias al compromiso institucional, el Hospital N.\u00ba 1 Regional La Paz obtuvo la acreditaci\u00f3n como Hospital Amigo de la Madre y la Ni\u00f1ez mediante la Resoluci\u00f3n ASUSS N.\u00ba 112\/2025, alcanzando un 94 % de cumplimiento de est\u00e1ndares y convirti\u00e9ndose en la primera instituci\u00f3n de la Seguridad Social de Corto Plazo en recibir esta distinci\u00f3n. En Bolivia, la implementaci\u00f3n de los 11 pasos para una lactancia materna exitosa inici\u00f3 en 2022 con la creaci\u00f3n de la primera sala de lactancia para madres con reci\u00e9n nacidos hospitalizados. Posteriormente, se fortaleci\u00f3 el proceso con capacitaciones impartidas por el SEDES y la ASUSS, la formaci\u00f3n continua del personal y la habilitaci\u00f3n de una segunda sala de lactancia destinada tambi\u00e9n a trabajadoras en periodo de lactancia. Entre los principales logros destacan la institucionalizaci\u00f3n del contacto piel a piel en partos y ces\u00e1reas programadas, la difusi\u00f3n de material educativo, la promoci\u00f3n del acompa\u00f1amiento familiar durante el nacimiento y la restricci\u00f3n de la promoci\u00f3n de suced\u00e1neos de la leche materna. Estos avances reflejan el compromiso del Comit\u00e9 de Lactancia Materna y de todo el personal hospitalario con la mejora continua de la atenci\u00f3n materno-infantil, el parto humanizado, la lactancia materna exclusiva y la protecci\u00f3n de los derechos de madres, reci\u00e9n nacidos y sus familias.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\"><strong><em>Palabras Clave: <\/em><\/strong>Lactancia materna, Acreditaci\u00f3n institucional, Salud materno-infantil, Comit\u00e9 de Lactancia Materna.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left; margin-bottom: 22px;\"><span style=\"display: inline-block; padding-bottom: 8px; border-bottom: 2px solid #00663a; color: #333; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold;\"> ABSTRACT<\/span><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 1.8; margin-bottom: 18px; color: #333;\">The \u201cCaja de Salud de Caminos y R.A\u201d. is a decentralized and autonomous healthcare institution that provides comprehensive health services to its insured members and beneficiaries through health promotion, disease prevention, recovery, and medical care, under the regulation of the Short-Term Social Security Supervisory Authority (ASUSS). Within this framework, the La Paz Regional Hospital implemented the Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI), aimed at protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding. The process began with the establishment of the Breastfeeding Committee, a multidisciplinary team responsible for training healthcare personnel and adapting care processes in accordance with national regulations. As a result of its institutional commitment, Hospital No. 1 La Paz Regional was accredited as a Baby-Friendly Hospital through ASUSS Administrative Resolution No. 112\/2025, achieving 94% compliance with mandatory standards and becoming the first short-term social security institution to receive this recognition. In Bolivia the Eleven Steps to Successful Breastfeeding started in 2022 with the creation of the first breastfeeding room for mothers whose newborns were hospitalized. The initiative was later strengthened through training programs provided by the Departmental Health Service (SEDES) and ASUSS, continuous staff education, and the establishment of a second breastfeeding room for both patients and hospital employees who were breastfeeding. Major achievements include the institutionalization of immediate skin-to-skin contact following vaginal deliveries and scheduled cesarean sections, the dissemination of educational materials, the promotion of family participation during childbirth, and restrictions on the promotion of breast milk substitutes.
